Bag of Block is intended for the winery that desires premium barrel flavors in their wines but may not have room or the inclination to use barrels. The 22 lb. mesh bags contain approximately 63 square feet of surface area and are best used for post-fermentation wines in tanks.
There is no special system required for use. The mesh bag can simply be placed in a tank and allowed to float freely or be tied down. Bag of Block’s large pieces provide similar extraction and flavors as new premium barrels. It is Innerstave’s most cost-efficient method for delivering premium oak flavors in stave format to wine tanks.
